It's Our 1st Birthday!

Just 12 months ago we launched Chrysalis Recruitment Solutions offering bespoke recruitment solutions to businesses across the North West. Just 4 weeks later we opened our very first office in Chester City Centre and employed our first Senior Consultant, Victoria Clague. Our aim was always to do things differently to other recruiters in order to separate ourselves from thousands of other recruiters in the market along with being the best at what we do. Ultimately, the aim was to support clients & candidates in order for them both to truly evolve through professional and effective talent acquisition, placing the best candidates with the best organisations each and every time.

So, you are fed up at work, dread Monday morning and have promised yourself a million times that you will find something better, something that makes you happy, something that maximises your potential. Sound familiar?

It has been reported that almost 70% of us would consider new opportunities however 30% of us are doing nothing about it. So why is that? I think there are lots of reasons; not having the time to sit and write a cv or look for jobs, reluctant to post your CV on a job board when in actual fact you don’t know who may see it, the fact you just don’t know where to start and maybe you don’t trust or see value in a recruiter to help.

Our Charity Partner of The Year, Chester Voluntary Action!

We are delighted to announce that we have chosen Chester Voluntary Action as our charity partner of the year!

It has always been important for us to partner with a local charity, whereby we could give something back to the local community in some way. We have met with Joanne Walton from CVA numerous times over the last few months finding out more about the amazing causes they support and establishing what we as a small business can do to support.

What’s the benefits to outsourcing your recruitment?

Ten years ago, recruitment was much simpler than it is today - the market was full of active job seekers, redundancies were being made, candidates were out of work and therefore immediately available to explore new opportunities. Therefore, it was easy for clients to recruit without utilising the expertise of recruiters. Unfortunately, times have changed and we now have a candidate led market. Unemployment is at just 4% meaning candidates are no longer out of work and therefore only looking to move if the opportunity, company, job role and package is right for them!

Just 6 months ago I made the biggest decision of my life, to set up my very own recruitment business. This decision was based on that guilty feeling I felt every day. Guilty for working so hard, not putting my own children to bed at night and guilty that I wasn’t spending quality time with them at such a young age. Surely, I could get the best of both worlds? Working for myself meant I could be a successful businesswoman whilst also being a great mum to my boys. Win Win!
