There is no doubt that this past year has been an incredibly trying time for everyone. While we are finally seeing hopeful signs of a new normal, the lasting impact will be felt for a long time to come.

It is evident the impact of the pandemic on working parents having had to drop everything in order to home school whilst juggling work and everything else that comes with family life. Although wasn’t it nice to spend more time with family, time out exploring and enjoying nature and time away from the hustle and bustle of life?

We have spoken with hundreds of working parents throughout the pandemic and there is a clear observation; what people want now compared with what they wanted 2 years ago has shifted. People now value their time more than ever before and working parents want to be able to continue doing all the good stuff with their children and enjoy family time whilst also being able to juggle a career in order to provide for their family.

Where Chrysalis People Solutions Began….

“For many years I was that mum that dropped the children off early at nursery and was last to collect, I’d run around giving them their tea and putting them to bed so I could get back to work. During the holidays they would go to holiday clubs and be passed around family and friends. There were many times I’d have left the house before they woke and returned when they were in bed.

And as much as I loved my job, I felt guilty all of the time – guilty when I was working and guilty when I wasn’t, guilty that I wasn’t spending time with the kids during the holidays, guilty that I wasn’t reading them their bedtime stories, the list goes on.

In 2017 when we went on holiday as a family my eldest who was 7 at the time turned to me and said, ‘it’s great to spend time with you mum’. My heart shattered, how had I got it so wrong. Everything I did was for my family, I worked hard so we could have the nice things in life but in all of that, I wasn’t giving my children what they desperately needed, me!

We returned from holiday, I resigned, and Chrysalis was born.

Chrysalis was to be a recruitment business like no other, driven on real values whilst separating us from the traditional agency methods. The business generated 6 figures in year one and has had year on year growth ever since.

Now, I want to help others who just like me want to create a better life for them and their family, and here it is.”
