PR Account Director (Travel)

An incredible agency based in London is currently seeking a dynamic and talented PR Account Director to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of 3 and take the reins on some of the agency's cornerstone accounts.

Our client, an independent agency with over 30 years’ experience, specialising in restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels, food & drink & lifestyle are looking for a friendly, driven and passionate Account Director to join their team.

The successful candidate will work across our luxury travel and restaurant clients, running concurrent travel and food and drink campaigns. Directing a team of three, we are looking for a strong leader, with a proven ability to multi-task and at least three year’s agency experience – travel PR experience in the UK and overseas imperative.

A strong work ethic and passion for the industry is a must – driven, hard-working and eager to contribute to the agency.

The Day to Day:

  • Senior contact for client accounts
  • Overseeing PR campaigns from creative brief to implementation and delivery
  • Presenting pitches, proposals and reports to clients and key stakeholders
  • Securing top tier media coverage
  • Generating creative content/ideas for clients
  • Delegating to and managing a PR team
  • Nurturing talent
  • Setting/monitoring KPIs
  • Nurturing current client accounts


  • Leading and managing a team of PR professionals and account managers, providing career counsel, professional development
  • support, monitoring and performance reviews
  • Identifying training needs where required
  • Overseeing media strategy and account development
  • Providing support for agency growth and development of new business pipeline
  • Achieving exceptional outcomes for current clients and managing an extended portfolio ensuring consistency of service is delivered in
  • line with company policy
  • Championing the agency values and brand
  • Developing senior press relationships and managing contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople and sector influencers
  • Offering crisis management and counsel to clients and extending networking opportunities
  • Overseeing provision of account resources
  • Formulating business strategy in conjunction with other directors

The ideal candidate:

  • Senior experience within a travel or travel-focused PR agency
  • Keen networker and adept at building relationships with key influencers and industry spokespeople
  • Expertise at handling a range of media to place products, grow brands or pitch for new customers
  • A strong industry network and contacts with senior journalists and members of the press
  • Excellent project management skills with strong organisational and planning skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Strong delegation skills
  • Commercial acumen and experience of developing new business
  • Management experience of developing star performers and overseeing performance
  • Experienced at winning new clients and pitching for business
  • Driven, ambitious and willing to contribute to the business
